Alagappa University Honors Chennais Amirta’s International Culinary Olympic Winners Sreya Aneesh and Amritha P.Sadan

Golden Girl Sreya Aneesh and Amritha P.Sadan for winning 2 Gold Medals at EXPO CULINAIRE -27th Edition at an event held at Hyatt Regency,  Chennai.

 

Vice Chancellor of Alagappa University Honourable Prof.G.Ravi honoured the students of Chennais Amirta for their remarkable success at the  three prestigious International culinary competitions: The IKA/Culinary Olympics in Germany, The Emirates Salon Culinaire in the UAE and at the Malaysia Battle of the Chefs 

Chennais Amirta made history by clinching gold medal and made India Proud with the first-ever gold in the 124 years history of the IKA/Culinary Olympics held in Stuttgart, Germany. 

 

Students won amidst fierce competition from professionals of 22 countries, Chennais Amirta secured a total of 10 medals, including 3 golds, 6 silvers, and 1 bronze. Golden Girl of Chennais Amirta Sreya Aneesh showcased exceptional talent, winning gold and silver medals in live carving and a silver medal in display carving of fruits and vegetables 

Following this triumph, Chennais Amirta students continued their winning streak at the EXPO CULINAIRE-27th Edition, EMIRATES INTERNATIONAL SALON CULINARIRE-2024- held at Expo Centre Sharjah, UAE, from May 20th to 22nd, 2024.

 

 Competing against 911 chefs from the UAE and abroad, The Emirates Culinary  Guild (ECG) held the competition in 39  classes across multiple disciplines of culinary arts and the Jury comprised of 23 Judges led by Otto Wieble. The Competition endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies is one of the largest culinary competitions in the Africa and middle East region. 

 

 Chennais Amirta students secured 3 medals, including 2 golds and 1 silver. Sreya Aneesh and Amritha P Sadan demonstrated exceptional skills in live and display carving of fruits and vegetables, earning gold medals for their outstanding performances.

 

Adding one more feather is the latest victory at the Malaysia-Battle of the Chefs-2024 endorsed by World chefs as “Continental Culinary Competition” event held at Penang from June 27th to 29th, 2024. Despite stiff competition from more than 1200 local and International Chefs participating in 65 categories, Sreya Aneesh showcased her prowess by winning a bronze medal in live carving of fruits and vegetables.

 

These victories underscore Chennais Amirta’s commitment to nurturing culinary talent and excellence. The institution’s committed  approach to culinary education, coupled with students’ dedication and skill, has consistently elevated them to success on the global stage.

 

Vice Chancellor of Alagappa university Honourable Prof.G.Ravi while addressing the gathering said “We are immensely proud of our Bsc students Ms.Sreya Aneesh and Ms.Amritha P.Sadan who have showcased their talent in the International Arena competing against Industry Professionals and securing Gold medals. Their achievements not only reflect their individual talents but also highlight the caliber of education and training offered . We are impressed with Chennais Amirta’s standards of Quality and special appreciations to the Chairman Mr.R.Boomenathan who is a personification of perfection and student delight.

 

Mr.R.Boomenathan , Chairman of Chennais Amirta expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and the press fraternities who were gathered to honour the students for their achievements .Congratulating the students for their hard work, determination and exceptional culinary skills he said Chennais Amirta will continue to set new benchmarks in Hotel education and looks forward to fostering the future Hospitality Professionals.
