Ambati Rayudu Discontinues Playing in Major League Cricket Due to Personal Issues

Ambati Rayudu withdrew from the first season of Major League Cricket in the wake of a significant BCCI declaration that the organization will be developing a policy governing players’ involvement, including those who have retired, in international T20 competitions.

However, Rayudu has cited “personal reasons” for his choice to withdraw from the MLC, where he was scheduled to play for Texas Super Kings, the sister team of Chennai Super Kings, five-time IPL winners.

Due to personal obligations, Ambati Rayudu won’t be able to play for the Texas Super Kings in the MLC’s first season. He will keep supporting the Indian squad, TSK declared in a short statement on Twitter.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-63286″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-new-project-6-13-11zon-750×563.png” alt=”” width=”1560″ height=”1171″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-new-project-6-13-11zon-750×563.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-new-project-6-13-11zon-1024×768.png 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-new-project-6-13-11zon-768×576.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-new-project-6-13-11zon-150×113.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-new-project-6-13-11zon.png 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1560px) 100vw, 1560px” />

After helping CSK win a record-tying fifth IPL championship in 2023, Rayudu declared his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket.

He was supposed to join TSK again and fight.

The decision regarding former players’ involvement in overseas competitions was among several that the BCCI Apex meeting, which was held on Friday in Mumbai, decided upon.

According to a media announcement from BCCI, “BCCI will formulate a policy for its players (including retired players) with regard to their participation in overseas T20 leagues.”

According to sources, the board is considering a cooling-off period before allowing retiring players to compete in other events.

South African Faf du Plessis will serve as the team’s captain for TSK, a Dallas-based club, in the inaugural MCL, a six-team competition that begins on July 14.

Along with other A-list actors, the franchise will also include David Miller, Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, and Dwayne Bravo.

The squad had signed Rusty Theron, Calvin Savage, Lahiru Milantha, Milind Kumar, Sami Aslam, Cameron Stevenson, Cody Chetty, Zia Shahzad, and Saiteja Mukkamalla after the original draft in March of this year.

Eric Simmons and Albie Morkel have been added to the coaching staff along with Stephen Fleming, who has been named as the team’s head coach.
