Ahead of the third ODI, Ravindra Jadeja said only the series before to the Asia Cup and World Cup would allow for experimentation

As this series is the last one between the Asia Cup and World Cup, India’s all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja acknowledged that the Men in Blue would continue their experiments against the West Indies in the third one-day international.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-106406″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-ahead-of-the-third-odi-ravindra-jadeja-said-only-the-series-before-to-the-asia-cup-and-world-cup-would-allow-for-experimentation-ani-20230731215137.jpg” alt=”” width=”1517″ height=”1138″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-ahead-of-the-third-odi-ravindra-jadeja-said-only-the-series-before-to-the-asia-cup-and-world-cup-would-allow-for-experimentation-ani-20230731215137.jpg 600w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-ahead-of-the-third-odi-ravindra-jadeja-said-only-the-series-before-to-the-asia-cup-and-world-cup-would-allow-for-experimentation-ani-20230731215137-150×113.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1517px) 100vw, 1517px” />

With a six-wicket victory in the second match, West Indies tied the ODI series at one. On Tuesday in Trinidad, Port of Spain will host the series finale.

“This is the only series before the Asia Cup and World Cup that we can do experiments and change the combination,” Jadeja remarked during the pre-game chat. We are limited in our experimentation during the World Cup and Asia Cup.

As Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were unable to participate in the previous game, Hardik Pandya served as the Indian team’s captain. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill remained India’s opening duo, while all other batters had their places changed.

Sanju Samson batted at number three, Axar Patel at number four, and acting captain Hardik Pandya at number five. Jadeja moved up to number seven, while Suryakumar Yadav fell to position six.

In response to a question on the absence of two important players from the last game, Jadeja said, “We are trying different things and combinations as this is the time that we can try different batting orders.”

There is no doubt on this since it is on management, and the captain is aware of the preferred combination.

In the second ODI of the three-match series in Barbados on Sunday, West Indies Captain Shai Hope’s 50 delivered a 6-wicket win to the Caribbeans as Indian bowlers failed to defend a low mark of 182. The sole half-centurion for India, Ishan Kishan, led the visitors to 181 in 40.5 overs.

We didn’t lose because we attempted various lineups; sometimes, we try something, and the wicket conditions altered between the first and second halves. One defeat won’t cause uncertainty or doubt, according to Jadeja.

“Every game teaches you something, and I personally want to play as many games as I can. But I will certainly comply if the team asks to see a fresh player. It is a collective effort,” he said.

The West Indies’ youthful team, the Indian spinner remarked, can learn from India to improve.

West Indies is a young squad, but they are growing and improving. They will improve as they play more. They are talented people. They will undoubtedly pick some tips from the Indian squad. They have a bright future, according to Jadeja.

“Every player is giving it their all; nobody takes anything for granted. They offer all they have 100 percent of the time. Only when India loses do these issues come up. Nobody is conceited, he said.
