Manoj Tiwary will resume his playing career and represent Bengal, according to a report

Former India batter Manoj Tewari chose to change his mind and start playing for Bengal a week after declaring his retirement from the sport. He made his cricket retirement announcement on Instagram last Thursday. Tiwary, however, intends to return after a comprehensive conversation with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Tiwary decided to leave retirement after speaking briefly with CAB president Snehasis Ganguly, as was reported. The former India international will meet with CAB representatives later on Tuesday and make his choice public, according to the article.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-117901″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-when-a-speeding-car-strikes-a-two-wheeler-in-vizag-three-people-die-download-2023-08-08t181119.718.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com when a speeding car strikes a two wheeler in vizag three people die download 2023 08 08t181119.718″ width=”1218″ height=”682″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-when-a-speeding-car-strikes-a-two-wheeler-in-vizag-three-people-die-download-2023-08-08t181119.718.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-when-a-speeding-car-strikes-a-two-wheeler-in-vizag-three-people-die-download-2023-08-08t181119.718-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1218px) 100vw, 1218px” title=”Manoj Tiwary will resume his playing career and represent Bengal, according to a report 3″>

Also known is that the CAB president asked him to keep representing the state. Bengal finished the season as runners-up and advanced to the Rani Trophy 2022–23 semifinals under Tiwary’s direction. Before playing his last match for India in July 2015 against Zimbabwe in Harare, Tiwary proudly donned the Indian Blue while representing the country in 12 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals.

“Goodbye to the game of cricket,” Tiwary said in a heartfelt message he published last week on his personal Instagram. Beginning with the periods when my life was tested by various hardships, this game has given me everything, and by everything, I mean everything that I had never imagined. I’ll always be appreciative to this game and to GOD, who has supported me no matter what.

Tiwary, a 141-game first-class veteran, is 92 runs shy from reaching 10,000 runs, in addition to his 29 hundreds and 45 half-centuries. He didn’t have many opportunities to play for his country, but he was a regular in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders team that won the championship in the 2012 season under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir.
