Muhammad Siraj “has the ability to take wickets, but he needs to carry out his plans better,” says Kapil Dev

While praising top pacer Mohammed Siraj, legendary Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev also gave him some helpful advise. In the last several years, Siraj has been one of the most improved batsmen in the Test and ODI forms. In addition, the youthful pacer has spearheaded the Indian pace attack on multiple occasions when Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were not there. He has been hailed as India’s future captain of the nation’s fast bowling assault.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-127700″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-a-us-man-spends-rs-41000-for-an-old-auctioned-cupboard-that-earns-him-rs-10-crore-mohammed-siraj-port-of-spain.jpg-11zon-750×427.png” alt=”theindiaprint.com a us man spends rs 41000 for an old auctioned cupboard that earns him rs 10 crore mohammed siraj port of spain.jpg 11zon” width=”1482″ height=”844″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-a-us-man-spends-rs-41000-for-an-old-auctioned-cupboard-that-earns-him-rs-10-crore-mohammed-siraj-port-of-spain.jpg-11zon-750×427.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-a-us-man-spends-rs-41000-for-an-old-auctioned-cupboard-that-earns-him-rs-10-crore-mohammed-siraj-port-of-spain.jpg-11zon-768×437.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-a-us-man-spends-rs-41000-for-an-old-auctioned-cupboard-that-earns-him-rs-10-crore-mohammed-siraj-port-of-spain.jpg-11zon-150×85.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-a-us-man-spends-rs-41000-for-an-old-auctioned-cupboard-that-earns-him-rs-10-crore-mohammed-siraj-port-of-spain.jpg-11zon.png 800w” sizes=”(max-width: 1482px) 100vw, 1482px” title=”Muhammad Siraj "has the ability to take wickets, but he needs to carry out his plans better," says Kapil Dev 3″>

While praising Siraj, Kapil said that sometimes he gets carried away and delivers too many short-pitch balls, using the just concluded World Test Championship Final as an example.

“I believe he has a lot of potential.” But he said, “But I sometimes believe that he gets carried away with short-pitch deliveries. Yes, a fast bowler’s weaponry is crucial. Siraj was throwing too many short-pitch deliveries when I saw India compete in the WTC final, but the Australian bowlers were pitching it up, Kapil told Times of India.

Siraj, according to Dev, has the capacity to claim the decisive wickets, but in order to maintain consistency, he must better carry out his plans.

“Siraj is really talented. But he needs to assess how many short-pitch pitches result in wickets for him. He can take wickets, but he has to carry out his plans more effectively,” the coach said.

The 1983 World Cup champion skipper also criticized Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for not participating in enough domestic matches.

The most significant cricket is domestic. How many recent domestic games have Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, or any other great players played? For the sake of the next generation of athletes, I believe that the best players should participate in a sufficient number of domestic matches, stated Kapil.

He also discussed Sanju Samson’s dismal performance during the just finished India tour of the West Indies, when he once again failed to shine.

Talking only about Sanju Samson is improper. The Indian team is the topic at hand. I consider him to be a fantastic player and skill. But he has to work harder,” Kapil said.
