Padikkal was one of the prominent players in the Maharaja KSCA T20 trophy, where he emerged as one of the most valued additions when Gulbarg Mystics paid INR 13.2 Lakhs, the third-highest fee in the whole competition, to get his services.

However, he was unable to participate in the competition due to a left thumb injury he received while competing for South Zone in the Deodhar Trophy.

I usually look forward to the Maharaja KSCA T20 trophy, so missing it this year makes me very sad. I really fractured my left thumb during the Deodhar Trophy, but I anticipate returning to play in three to four weeks, Padikkal told Fancode.

The child had surgery for a left thumb injury earlier this month.

“Simply an update. My left thumb sustained a fracture, necessitating surgery. The road to recovery has started, and I can’t wait to soon return to the field, he had said in a social media post.

Speaking of his squad, the reigning champion Gulbarga Mystics, Padikkal stated the group did a fantastic job last year and has a quality group this year as well that can go all the way.

The 23-year-old extolled the virtues of RCB’s IPL-winning young fast bowler and new skipper Vyshak Vijay Kumar.

“We believed he was ready to assume the role at this time. He’s been successful in every format, so now is the perfect moment for him to succeed for us this year,” said Padikkal.

Padikkal praised the Maharaja KSCA T20 Trophy even more, calling it a fantastic platform for the state’s young, promising athletes.

It’s a fantastic competition, particularly in a region like Karnataka where there are so many brilliant young players. Every time I speak with them, I assure them that it isn’t about winning or losing, but rather about having fun in a setting where you can freely express yourself.
