After nine seasons as the five-time champions’ bowling coach, Bond resigns from his position.

Malinga, who played all of his cricket in the IPL with MI before retiring, joined the Rajasthan Royals as their fast-bowling coach, a role he held for two seasons.

Malinga will be working with Mumbai’s support team once again; in 2018, he acted as their coach.

Maling shared the bowling unit with pacer Jasprit Bumrah when he returned to the field of play and contributed to Mumbai winning their fourth IPL championship in 2019.

Overall, Malinga won five championships with Mumbai: the Champions League T20 in 2011 and four IPLs (2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019).

He participated in 139 games for Mumbai, capturing 195 wickets at an average of 7.12. Out of them, 170 wickets, the sixth-most in the league, came in the IPL.

Malinga played for the MI New York team during the first MLC season, which they won by defeating Seattle Orcas by seven wickets in the final last month.

Before taking over as the global head of performance of the Mumbai franchise this year as they expanded their wings across T20 competitions in the UAE (ILT20), South Africa (SA20), and the USA (Major League Cricket), Bond, who joined Mumbai in 2015, played a vital role from 2017 to 2022.
