Mr. Lokesh said in the plea that the movie “misrepresented” Mr. Naidu in order to make him “unpopular” and asked the high court to revoke the censor certificate of the crime-thriller picture about a police officer’s job amid a web of plots.

In the high court appeal, Mr. Lokesh, the national general secretary of the TDP, claimed that the director and producer had infringed Mr. Naidu’s basic rights.

Mr. Lokesh said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had supported the film’s production, adding that the film’s objective is to harm the opposition TDP’s image.

Mr. Lokesh said that the producer and director had previously produced a number of “wrong” movies, and that they are filming this one with Jagan Reddy’s backing even though they are aware that there would be losses.

On Tuesday, the petition will be heard by the top court.

A lavish pre-release celebration for “Vyooham” has been arranged by Ram Gopal Varma at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada. He is inviting couples and college students to the musical performance.

The controversial director, known by his stage as RGV, also sent invitations to Mr. Lokesh, Mr. Naidu, and Pawan Kalyan. RGV has said that the movie “Vyooham” is the product of a “vyooham,” or conspiracy.

In addition to “Vyooham,” RGV said that he will also be releasing “Shapadham” in January.

Director Mahi V Raghav, who identified as a fan of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, had directed a film titled “Yatra” before to the 2019 election. The film was based on YSR’s 1,500-kilometer padayatra, which brought him closer to the people and ultimately contributed to his victory as Chief Minister in 2004.

‘Yatra 2’, which Mr. Raghav is now producing, depicts events from 2009, after YSR’s demise, until 2019.

Actor Mammooty from Kerala portrays YSR, while Jiiva from Tamil plays Jaganmohan Reddy.

The former chief minister, Mr. Naidu, was arrested on September 9 in connection with a purported multi-crore skill development case, and he had been detained for more than a month. Jagan Reddy has denied that the TDP is on a political vendetta. According to the Chief Minister, the federal authorities looked into the accusations made against Mr. Naidu.

“Chandrababu Naidu was not arrested out of revenge. I have no desire to get revenge on Naidu. The arrest has nothing to do with me. On October 9, Jagan Reddy addressed leaders and party members, saying, “It (the arrest) was made when I was not in India.”
