The host team had earlier won the toss and asked the guests to bat first. With 37/3 on the scoreboard, UT’s top order of Shivam Bhambri (0), Arsalan Khan (8), and skipper Manan Vohra (21) failed to produce. A crucial 71-run partnership between Karan and Kunal Mahajan helped push the total to 108. In the 45th over, Hardik Raj bowled out Kunal (34).

Another crucial 46-run stand for the fifth wicket, this time with Ankit Kaushik, was made possible by Karan. When the scoreboard read 154/5, Kaushik (25), who was facing the same bowler, Hardik, gave up and left the wicket.

Before the stumps were drawn, Chandigarh scored 219 runs at the cost of six wickets, with hitters Mayank Sidhu (31) and Gurinder Singh (10), both undefeated.
