In his film, Randeep plays Veer Savarkar, who battles both the British Raj and Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas. The trailer also features notable revolutionaries and politicians including Madanlal Dhingra, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

In response to the teaser on Tuesday, Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji’s grandnephew, requested that the filmmakers avoid from associating Savarkar’s name with Subhash Chandra Bose. Chandra Kumar Bose commented, “@RandeepHooda – appreciate your making a film on ‘Savarkar,’ but its important to project the true personality!” after tagging Randeep Hooda in a news story on X (previously Twitter). Please don’t associate Savarkar with “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.” Netaji was a secular leader who was inclusive and a patriot among nationalists.”

Randeep attended the trailer releasing ceremony on Monday and spoke with the media. Randeep clarified during the Q&A that his movie is not propaganda. According to the actor, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is a politician and freedom warrior, and this is the antidote to the lies against him.

“This is an anti-propaganda film,” the actor said. It will counteract all of the decades-long misinformation directed against Savarkar. He wasn’t an advocate or “maafiveer.” Not only him, but a great number of individuals at the time also penned letters of compassion. I go into great detail about this in the movie.”

Additionally, Randeep said, “Bail pleas and petitions were filed.” It is every prisoner’s right. Anyone who has visited a court would be familiar with the way the court is addressed. He wanted to leave the cellular prison where he was being held and make a political and cultural contribution to the nation. He made every effort to enter the national arena and make a contribution.” Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, which is being produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films in association with Legend Studios and Avak Films, is scheduled for release on March 22, 2024.
