Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana Proposes Naming Jewar Airport as “Lord Krishna Airport, Braj Bhumi”

A significant proposal has been put forward by Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana, suggesting that the upcoming Noida Jewar International Airport be named “Lord Krishna Airport, Braj Bhumi.” In a formal letter addressed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi AdityanathProf. Dr. K. S. Rana emphasized the deep cultural, spiritual, and historical relevance of the region.

Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana, who has served as Vice Chancellor across multiple universities, appreciated the visionary leadership of the Uttar Pradesh Government in developing the airport. He highlighted that this mega infrastructure project is not only a gateway for economic growth, industrial expansion, and global connectivity but also an opportunity to showcase India’s civilizational identity to the world.

In his proposal, Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana pointed out that Jewar is situated in the sacred land of Braj Bhumi, the divine region associated with the life and leelas of Lord Krishna. As described in ancient Hindu scriptures such as the Shrimad Bhagavad GitaBhagavata Purana, and various Vaishnav traditions, Braj is not merely a geographical location but a spiritual consciousness that represents love, dharma, and divine harmony.

Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana stated that naming the airport “Lord Krishna Airport, Braj Bhumi” would align modern infrastructure with India’s timeless spiritual heritage. He noted that such a name would not only honor Lord Krishna’s legacy but also create a unique global identity rooted in India’s cultural depth.

Drawing from Hindu philosophy, where development (Vikas) and dharma go hand in hand, Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana emphasized that progress should reflect both material advancement and spiritual grounding. He expressed that integrating cultural identity into national infrastructure projects strengthens societal pride and connects future generations with their roots.

Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana further highlighted that Lord Krishna, revered as the embodiment of wisdom, leadership, and righteousness, continues to inspire millions across the world. Associating such a globally recognized spiritual figure with a major international airport would elevate India’s soft power and cultural presence on the global stage.

The proposal by Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana reflects a broader vision—where infrastructure is not just functional, but also symbolic of the nation’s heritage and values. It opens an important dialogue on how India can harmonize rapid modernization with its rich spiritual and cultural traditions.

The Noida Jewar International Airport, recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stands as one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. Through this proposal, Prof. Dr. K. S. Rana has added a meaningful cultural dimension to its identity, reinforcing the idea that India’s future growth can remain deeply connected to its timeless past.
